One of the toughest seasons for many Ugandans was staying home in the preventive Covid-19 Lockdown. Even before Uganda registered a single case of the pandemic, the government thought it necessary to ensure its citizens were safe. Many family heads were not able to work to feed their families.
In an economy like Uganda’s were the average worker earns a day’s wage that meets that day’s needs, makes it a challenge for many home heads to provide for their families if a work day was taken off the calender. Now consider 3 months.
Set Free Africa Ministries was blessed to share what we have in terms of basic needs like food, washing soap for nutrition, sanitation and disease prevention. We moved into areas like Ssagazzi village, Nakabingo, Buvuma Islands, Kigaya, Bulutwe, Kyanja and Lugazi municipality.
Here are some of the pictures from our travels.
Even though we made many purchases of the food we distributed, we have a plan to farm our own food in the near future. You can read more in the proposal we have here.
